First, let me just say I love my iPhone.
I love that it is my phone, checks my mail, holds my music, allows me to easily surf the net, etc. Besides the phone itself, my most used feature is by far the iTunes. I love ranking my music and playlists. I have recently began looking looking at my play count too on all my songs. My suggestion to Apple, however, would be that if you listen to, say, over 75% of the song the count should increase. I very rarely make it to the end of a song. I just don’t have the patience. Most times I skip seconds before the end. And then my play count does not increase. (Okay, I just checked. If there’s less than 10 seconds left play count does increase. So I guess my patience runs out faster than I thought. Usually about the time the words stop.) So, even though I listened to Closer to Fine on repeat all the way to work yesterday and then all the way home from work last night, my play count only shows 5. So according to iTunes, my top 5 most listened to songs are Easy Tonight by Five for Fighting, To The Light by Newton Faulkner, She Says by Howie Day, It’s All Coming Back to Ne Now by Meatloaf, and Dream Catch Me by Newton Faulkner. Were Apple using my method for play count, I’m sure Closer to Fine would have nudged out Dream Catch Me.
