Last Friday I was my official graduation. It was great. I went to the main ceremony in the morning with all the degrees and programs and then the hooding and recognition ceremony in the afternoon where the Masters recipients walked and the Ph.D. recipients got hooded.

I am oficially Dr. Mert! I had my dissertation defense yesterday and I passed! It was a huge rush to stand at the board and present all of my research. I had so much to cover I was going a little fast… by the end my arm was tired. 🙂 My favorite part was after the defense when one of my committee members shook my hand, leaned over, and conspiratorially said “The password is Mobius.” 🙂

On Monday my friend K gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! Her name is Aubrey and she is absolutely perfect! K is a trooper, too, as Aubrey weighed in at 9 pounds 3 ounces even with K being induced almost two weeks early!
